Welcome Fall 2023. This seemed to be the summer that finished before it began. With much of the world facing excessive heat and/or floods, we on the West Coast are not immune to Mother Nature with water shortages and wildfires. They seem to be continuing into the Fall and we hope that none of you have been too severely impacted by these events. From a tax compliance perspective, please read the article in this newsletter on the Underused Housing Tax (UHT) as the extended deadline to file is looming on 31 October 2023. If you have questions or concerns about this UHT, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss how we may be able to assist.
Since our last newsletter we have been adding to our staff and many of you will have already dealt with some of these individuals. In May 2023, we were joined by Steve Kwalk who is a CPA student completing his professional education. In June 2023, Heidi Mathena joined us as the Firm’s Workplace Manager. Heidi comes to us with many years of experience working in an engineering firm. In September 2023, we have been joined by David Kiema who is a CPA and completed his training at a firm in Dallas, Texas. We are also joined in September 2023 by Jesse Missio and Cavell Chan who are working through their professional courses to become CPAs. We are also please to have Claire Del Villar join us to round out our administrative team.
